About the Company and the Western Australian Operation:

Our client has a number of manufacturing facilities around Australia and is one of the countrys largest manufacturers and installers of products for the construction industry. They have had long established and very successful presence in Western Australia.

The WA operation is an integral part of the groups growth strategy and the fact that you control manufacturing provides a significant strategic advantage over your competitors in the WA market (many of whom you will sell product to). There is huge scope for improvement in bottom line performance.

The group nationally is continually leading the market with new product development and setting new standards for the industry and with improved architectural design and greater concentration on best practice energy & environmental efficiency outcomes, demand can only grow.

About the Role:

Located in Perth, this role oversees the total Western Australian division which encompasses Sales, Operations, Administration and Installation teams.

You will report directly to the CEO in Melbourne, so there is a high degree of autonomy; you will be supported locally by a highly experienced and knowledgeable Operations Manager and a strong Financial Controller. Additional support will come from functional teams at the corporate head office in Melbourne.

You will have full Profit & Loss responsibility and will report results on a monthly basis.

Key responsibilities will include:


  • developing business and sales strategies and plans to meet company objectives

  • achieving sales budgets, including driving improvement in margins

  • achieving P&L bottom line success

  • driving brand recognition

  • managing, leading and motivating the activities of all the staff in the WA operations

  • ensuring that production targets are realistic and are focused on meeting customer needs

  • ensuring compliance to all legal and Workplace Health & Safety compliance



The successful applicant will have:

  • past experience in the construction industry with a relevant Tertiary qualification

  • a proven record of success at a regional or general manager level

  • strong business acumen and proven budgeting, planning and forecasting experience

  • a proven track record in managing to P&L responsibility, not cost centre

  • a passion for business growth and an ability to focus the sales team

  • demonstrated leadership skills that will focus all employees on achieving relevant targets

  • excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills focused on delivering what the client wants whilst achieving consistent profitable growth
